Possibly my first taste of show business

A long, long time ago when I was 10, 11 and 12 years old I got my first look behind the scenes of a real, (or so I thought real) show. I have two older siblings but we are so far apart most people think I am an only child. My brother is 9 years older than me and my sister is 18 years older than me. My sister got married the day I was born and I didn't see her much growing up, but since I lived with my brother he was the person I looked up to. My brother was in marketing all throughout high school and I followed in his footsteps and my brother was also in show choir which I also followed in his footsteps with. When I was 10 my brother had a show and invited me backstage to meet all his friends and to hang with the older guys and gals. I thought this was so cool. Then when they got on stage they seemed to be having a blast. This was my first taste of show business, or from the mind of a 10 year old what I thought show business was; either way I was hooked. The next 2 years I got to know several members of the group that were in my brother's show choir and they were all super nice to me and after all these years I never forgotten that. As I was having dinner the other day with my brother he told me about one of his friends from high school that had been diagonsed with intestinal cancer and he couldn't even afford his co pays. It made me think how lucky I am to be able to do this for a living and if it weren't for those kids in that show choir being so nice to a little kid, I may not have had the drive to be on stage as I have. Anyway, I am writing this to ask you to take a second and read the story about John Gunther and if you can spare even $20.00 it would mean the world to him; quite possibly literally.

These guys meant more to me than I ever realized and something just clicked at dinner, if it weren't for this group I may be not be doing what I love so much for a living.
